- Closure: Cork
Chateau Chambrun is emerging as a worthy competitor to what is generally considered to be the finest wine of the appellation, La Fleur de Bouard. Cropped at 21 hectoliters per hectare, and made from a final blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, the 2010 is a real blockbuster. Its dense purple color is followed by a big, sweet nose of melted chocolate, espresso roast, blackberries and cassis. Aromatic, rich, unctuously textured and thick, it achieved 14.5% natural alcohol and should drink nicely for 7-8 years. Drink: 2013 - 2017.
Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate # 194 May 2011
I love the chocolate and bright fruit on the nose and palate here. Full and velvety, with loads of fruit. Maybe a little hollow on the center palate. But long and gorgeous.
