2010 Chapel Hill Il Vescovo Sangiovese

This wine shows excellent depth of colour for a Sangiovese with a near opaque deep dark red colour and dark red hue. The nose displays top notes of black cherries and dark plums followed by some earthy cedar and spice. The palate is quite ripe and plump with flavours of dark cherry and dark plum dominate followed by some underlying cedar and spice background characters. Slightly dryish but balanced tannins with aftertaste of dark cherry, spice and earth.
Cellar 2-3 years (2013-2014).
