2010 Balnaves of Coonawarra Cabernet Merlot

A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot that was matured for 17 months in a combination of new and used French oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with dark red black tinged hue. Lifted aromas of blackcurrant infused with spearmint evolve from the glass with underlying subtle cedar and spice also present. Full bodied with plenty of richness and a firm structure the palate features flavours of blackcurrant intermixed with mint and a touch of dark chocolate followed by some spicy cedar. Very dry finish with solid assertive tannins making their presence felt. Chewy aftertaste of blackcurrant, mint and spicy cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years.
