2010 Ballast Stone Windjammer Shiraz

Aged in American and French oak barrels for 18 months. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. On the nose liquorice allsorts top notes are followed by some ripe plum, confectionary and vanillin toasty oak. Full bodied, ripe, joosy and succulent the palate delivers flavours of plummy dark chocolate, liquorice, vanillin oak and a touch of spice. Opulent mouthfeel with velvet smooth tannins. Good length with long plum, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanillin confectionary and toasty oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
