Cellar: 5 - 6 Years (2021-2022)

Acquired by the Marchesi Antinori family in 1995, the Pian Delle Vigne estate is located 6km to the South of the town of Montalcino and consists of 184 hectares of land of which 65 are planted with vines and the remainder with olive groves and woodland.

Very deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a very dark red verging on brick red hue. Perfumed aromas of ripe dark cherries intermixed with violets and dried herbs emerge from the glass followed by subtle notes of leather, earth and spice. Medium weight with an elegant mouthfeel the palate is both savoury and rich featuring a delightful combination of ripe dark cherries, dried herbs, earthy cedar, subtle leather and spice flavours. Dry, slightly chewy finish with fine grained tannins that have an underlying sturdiness about them and provide great structure. Long aftertaste of dark cherries, dried herbs, earthy cedar characters, some leather and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other reviews....
Lots of candied-orange, dark-fruit and dried-flower character on the nose. Full body with soft, silky tannins and a chewy finish. Funky and intense. Lots of smoked-meat, berry and dark-chocolate character. Very rich and delicious. Best Brunello from here in a long time. Try in 2016.

Antinori's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a highly representative wine from the Camigliano district. Soft, fruity and open, the 2010 will drink well early and hold for another decade or so. This is a decidedly round, succulent Brunello with considerable immediacy.
