Produced from a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 39% Shiraz the wine was matured for 19 months in 22% new oak with the balance in 1-3 year old American, French and Hungarian barrels. Opaque dark crimson red purple colour with deep crimson red purple hue. The nose exhibits aromas of ripe blackcurrant followed by some dark plum, dark cherry and spice. Medium weight the palate shows generous flavours of blackcurrant, mulberry and dark cherry with some underlying cedary characters on the back palate. Very fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, mulberry, dark cherry and cedar.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
