2009 Woodlands Cabernet Merlot

Made from a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 9% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc the wine was matured for 14 months in French oak of which 5% was new with the balance evenly spilt between 1, 2 & 3 year old barrels. Opaque dark crimson red colour with crimson purple hue. The nose displays bay leaf top notes followed by some mulberry, spice and cedar. Elegant and medium bodied in stature the palate displays flavours of ripe mulberry, tobacco leaf, cedar and spice. Dry finish with well balanced fine grained tannins structure. Good length with aftertaste of mulberry, spice and cedar.
Cellar 3-4 years (2014-2015).
