2009 Wirra Wirra Woodhenge Shiraz

Matured for 19 months in a combination of French and American oak barriques and hogsheads of which 35% were new. Totally opaque inky black dark purple colour with black dark purple hue. The nose displays lifted top notes of liquorice and dark plum followed by some ripe blackberry, vanilla and confectionary. Full bodied, although at the same time quite elegant in structure by McLaren Vale standards, the palate delivers generous flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some confectionary with a spicy back palate. Fine grained tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, confectionary and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years (2015-2016).
