2009 Wirra Wirra Church Block Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot

The 2009 Church Block is produced from a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Shiraz and 20% Merlot. Maturation took place in a combination of 70% French oak and 30% American barriques for a period of 18 months.

Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. Lifted blackcurrant aromas are followed by some liquorice, mulberry and cedar notes. Generous and fleshy in texture the palate delivers a flavour profile of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice followed by some dark chocolate and black plum characters. Super fine grained velvet like tannins with aftertaste of dark plum, liquorice and spicy cedar.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2010-2013).
