2009 Waipara Hills Pinot Noir

As a result of the outstanding 2009 vintage conditions winemaker Simon McGeorge has produced a great value Pinot Noir that delivers both depth and strong varietal character.
Matured in a mixture of oak barrels and tanks for 10 months. Semi translucent crimson mauve colour with mauve crimson hue. Aromas of dark cherry are followed by some cedar, anise and spice showing showing good intensity. Light to medium weight but with a good power wave the palate displays flavours of dark cherry, plum and anise with a spicy finish. Fine grained soft well integrated tannins. Long aftertaste of dark cherry, spicy cedar and anise.
Drink over the next 2-3 years. (2011-204)
