2009 Tyrrell's Hunter Valley 4 Acres Shiraz

An elegant Hunter Shiraz.
Sourced from 130 year old vines the wine was matured in a 2 year old French oak cask (2700L) and a 1500L new French oak cask for 15 months. Deep dark crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays a top note of clove, followed by some subtle dark cherry, earth and spice notes. Medium bodied the palate shows a touch more weight than the Johnno’s Shiraz, with flavours of dark cherry, toasty earth and spice. Very fine grained, well integrated tannins with medium to long aftertaste of dark cherry, spice and toasty earth.
Cellar 4-5 years (2015-2016).
