The Gask is sourced from a single plot of Shiraz nestled into the eastern slope of Mt. McKenzie that is painstakingly nurtured by the Knight family. Planted in 1960 this elevated site yields small, intense berries that possess great intensity of flavour without sacrificing balance & poise. Maturation took place in old French barriques for 18 months.

Totally opaque inky black dark crimson red colour with black dark red hue. The nose displays excellent intensity with aromas of ripe black plum, liquorice and fennel followed by some dark chocolate and spice. Super concentrated the palate delivers explosively rich flavours of black plum, black cherry, liquorice and dark chocolate followed by some spice and vanilla. Voluptuous texture with silky smooth tannins. Long and very persistent aftertaste of black plum, dark chocolate, vanilla and spice.
Drink over the next 5-6 years (2011-2017).
Alc 14.5%
