Cellar: Drink now - 8 Years (2013-2021)

Barossa Valley, South Australia. Outstanding vintage conditions in 2009 have produced one of the best Run Rig’s to date. Such was the incredible aromatics of the Shiraz that it was decided that 2009 Run Rig did not require its usual addition of Viognier.

Maturation took place in both new and old French barriques for a period of 30 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red black hue. Superb nose with an intense aromatic profile of black plum, liquorice and dark chocolate overlaid with some well integrated toasty oak and vanillin spice. Full bodied and flamboyant the palate is brimming with decadently rich fruit that glides across the palate like liquid silk. Sumptuous and plushly textured flavours of black plum, dark chocolate bullets and ripe blackberry fill every corner of the mouth with some underlying toasty oak and spice. Velvety polished tannins. Superb depth with very long aftertaste of black plum, dark chocolate bullets, ripe blackberry and spicy toasted oak.
Drink over the next 6-8 years (2013-2021).
Alc 15.0%

Other Reviews….

"...opens with wonderful perfume... Redolent of violets and blueberries it is very spicy with an undercurrent of anise and Indian spices muddled with mulberries. Taut and elegant on the palate, it gives plenty of concentrated fruit flavor with crisp acid and firm, fine tannins. It finishes long. Drink it from 2016 to 2030+."
