2009 Standish The Relic Shiraz Viognier

Super saturated inky black colour with very deep black crimson hue. Nosing offers up an exotic sniff of ripe dark plum, liquorice and ripe blackberry with a twist of dried apricot also present finishing with some spice end notes. Full bodied, voluptuous and rich dark plum, blackberry and liquorice flavours flood the palate followed by hints of dried apricot with a spicy back palate. Velvet smooth mouthfeel, yet solid tannin structure with long very persistent dark plum, blackberry, liquorice and spicy dried apricot aftertaste. A lavish, richly textured Shiraz Viognier.
