2009 St. Michaels Vineyard Nellies Merlot

Displaying an opaque black dark crimson red colour with a dark crimson red hue the wine was matured in French oak for 20 months. The nose displays a very ripe aroma profile of super ripe plum almost ribeena like notes, followed by some cassis, dark chocolate and spicy cedar. The palate is reflective of the nose with full bodied very ripe (bordering on overripe) generous plummy flavours dominate followed by some dark chocolate and spice. Fleshy mouthfeel with very soft fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe plum, dark chocolate and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
