2009 Sons Of Eden Zephyrus Shiraz

A blend of 98% Shiraz and 2% Viognier that was matured for 16 months in new and used oak. Totally opaque inky black purple colour with very deep black dark purple hue. The nose is quite youthful but shows good intensity with aromas of inky liquorice and blackberry followed by some dark plum and spice. Full bodied the palate is very generous possessing rich mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice followed by a light toast overlay with a spicy back palate. Very fine grained, almost velvety tannins with long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years (2015-2016).
