2009 Skillogalee Basket Pressed The Cabernets Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Cabernet Franc

A superb Clare Valley blend made up of Cabernet Sauvignon (87%), Malbec (11%) and Cabernet Franc (2%) with maturation taking place in predominantly French oak hogsheads for around 24 months.

Opaque black dark crimson red colour with dark red hue. The nose possesses excellent intensity with rich ripe blackcurrant scents dominate followed by some dark chocolate, spicy cedar and a hint of mint. The palate is reflective of the nose being full bodied and stacked with ripe generous blackcurrant flavours intermixed with some cedar, mint and spice. Firmish well structured but fine grained tannins lend excellent support to the volumes of fruit. Long aftertaste of perfectly ripened blackcurrant, cedar and spice.
