2009 Reilly's Dry Land Merlot

Matured for 2 years in second use French oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with very deep dark red hue. The nose displays aromas of very ripe mulberry, dark plum and dark chocolate followed by a touch of spice. This is very much a full bodied richer style of Merlot with a flavour profile at the darker end of the spectrum. Dark plum and dark chocolate flavours are followed by some ripe mulberry and spice. Fine grained relatively soft tannins. Aftertaste of dark chocolate, ripe dark plum and toasty oak.
Drink this rich plump Merlot over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
