2009 Principia Pinot Noir

Matured in French oak for approximately 18 months. Semi translucent, slightly hazy dark crimson red mauve colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose displays lifted top notes of ripe dark plum, dark cherry and ripe strawberry followed by some spice and a touch of anise. Light to medium weight the palate delivers flavours of dark cherry, dark plum, light toast and spice. It lacks some power in comparison to previous vintages. Dry finish. Very fine grained well integrated tannins with aftertaste of dark cherry, plum and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2014-2015).
