2009 Penley Estate Chertsey Cabernets

Produced from a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Totally opaque inky black dark red colour with deep dark red black hue. The nose offers up aromas of ripe blackcurrants long with some liquorice and black plum followed by some vanillin cedar and spice. The palate delivers a rich concentrated flavour profile of perfectly ripened blackcurrants, subtle dark chocolate and liquorice with some underlying cedary cigar box and spice. Excellent structure with sturdily built fine grained tannins providing the framework for longer term cellaring. Long persistent aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, cedary cigar box and spice.
