2009 Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz

Totally opaque black dark crimson red colour with dark purple red hue. The nose shows more perfume than the Bin128 with lifted scents of blackberry, dark plum and liquorice followed by some vanilla and spice overtones. Matured for 12 months in American oak the palate possesses good weight and richness with flavours of ripe blackberry and dark plum on the front palate followed by some vanillin spice and peppery spice like characters. Fine grained, slightly dryish but well balanced tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, liquorice and blackpepper.
