Established in 1978 by Tim & Judy Finn, Neudorf Vineyards have established an international reputation over the last 30 years. Located at the top west of the South Island, Nelson is New Zealand's eighth largest wine region, though it's traditionally been associated with apples, tobacco and hops. Nelson gets significantly more rainfall than neighbouring and dry Marlborough, however this is compensated by a northern exposure giving it the second highest total hours of sunshine in the country.

Matured for 10 months in French oak this excellent Nelson Pinot Noir displays a semi translucent crimson red colour with light crimson hue. Perfumed scents of dark cherries, dark plum and anise followed by some toasty characters and spice. Medium weight the palate delivers generous flavours of dark cherries, dark plum, anise and toast with a spicy back palate demonstrating superb power. Velvet smooth tannins and fleshy mouthfeel. Long aftertaste of dark cherry, dark plum, anise and toasty spice.
