2009 Mr Riggs Shiraz

The 2009 Mr Riggs Shiraz was matured for 18 months in a combination of new and one year old French and American oak barrels. It has also had a longer period in bottle prior to release than previous vintages.

Totally opaque, saturated black dark purple colour with very deep, black purple hue. The nose displays perfumed notes of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by some dark chocolate and confectionary notes. Rich and opulent, yet poised and elegant, the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate followed by some liquorice, confectionary and spice nuances on the back palate. Very fine grained, velvet like tannins showing seamless integration. Magnificent depth with very long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, liquorice and spice.
