2009 Marguet Grand Cru Rose Champagne

Benoit continues to announce himself on the world stage producing artisanal Champagnes full of class and distinction.

Excellent white frothy mousse upon pouring that slowly dissipates to reveal a light salmon pink core with a very fine bead that possesses excellent persistence. The nose shows very good intensity with lifted top notes of winter strawberry intermixed with raspberry overlaying some yeasty characters, light toast and sherbet. The palate possesses excellent concentration and freshness with lively flavours of winter strawberries and delicate raspberries prevalent over some yeast lees and sherbet like characters. Moderately creamy mouth feel that will build in texture with bottle age. Dry finish with finely balanced acidity. Long aftertaste of winter strawberries, raspberries, sherbet and yeast lees. A first rate Rose style that will continue to develop.
