Cellar: 6 - 8 Years (2024-2026)

This zero dosage Champagne has been made in collaboration with artist Phillipe Starck.

A fine plentiful mousse dissipates to reveal a pale straw, pale gold base wine which threaded by an exceptionally fine bead that shows excellent persistence. There’s a lovely richness to the powerful aromatics of oily baked bread, yeast lees, citrus, light dried honey, toast and cashew. Texturally lean and bone dry yet possessing an airy, lightly creamed mouthfeel, the palate dishes up toasty yeast lees, citrus, roasted almonds and baked bread flavours. Dry chalky, cream tinged finish with sculptured acidity lending tension. Long mouth watering aftertaste of yeast lees, oily toast, baked bread, cashew and citrus aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 12%

Other Reviews…
The nutty bouquet encapsulates some aldehydes and oak aromatics, while the palate is at once delicate, crisp and powerful. It feels immediate and rich, as opposed to linear and long. The wine has wonderful richness and amazing balance, considering the lack of dosage. It has a mineral rather than fruity personality. The creaminess from long lees maturation and low gas pressure enables this remarkable texture. A thoroughly impressive and convincing wine - indeed, a stroke of genius. (66% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay; 30% oak matured; zero dosage)'

Roederer's 2009 Brut Nature is compelling. Powerful, ample and creamy, the 2009 has more than enough natural richness and texture to carry the wine with no dosage. The Brut Nature emerges from vineyards in Cumieres, where the wines are naturally tense, which creates a fascinating push and pull with the ripeness of 2009 and no dosage approach. Of all the grand marque Chefs de Caves, Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon is the closest to his vineyards and the most artisan in spirit. That comes through loud and clear in this fabulous Champagne. The Brut Nature is also the single best value within the Roederer range today. Drink 2018-2029.
