2009 Langmeil Orphan Bank Shiraz

Totally opaque inky black crimson colour with very deep dark crimson black hue. Maturation took place in a combination of 48% new and 52% seasoned French oak for a period of 2 years. The nose possesses excellent intensity with aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate and vanillin confectionary wafting from the glass followed by some mocha and spice. Full bodied the palate delivers a decadently rich flavour profile of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and liquorice followed by some vanillin confectionary, light cedar and spice. Voluptuous mouthfeel with polished, silky smooth tannins. Outstanding depth with very long liquorice, blackberry, dark chocolate, vanilla and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-8 years.
