2009 Katnook Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cabernet was aged in oak barriques of which 35% were New French oak with the balance being previously used French and American oak. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. The nose displays scents of ripe blackcurrant, cedar, a touch of stewed plums and spice. Full bodied the palate shows impressive richness, verging on being opulent with mouthfilling flavours of dark ripe blackcurrant, stewed plums, dark chocolate, cedar and spice. Very fine grained velvet like tannins. Good depth with aftertaste of dark ripe blackcurrant, dark chocolate, stewed plums and spicy cedar.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
