Sourced from old vineyards in the Krondorf, Ebenezer, Tanunda and Eden Valley regions the wine was matured for 18 months in 39% new fine grain French oak hogsheads (300 litres) and the balance in 2, 3 and 4 year old hogsheads. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson purple hue. Lifted top notes of ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some dark cherry, vanillin confectionary and a touch of spice. The palate is round and generous displaying Barossa’s hallmark opulence. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some mocha and spice. Velvet smooth tannins with long aftertaste of blackberry, dark plum and spice.
