Ron Laughton rates the 2009’s as one of his finest vintages to date. Opaque black crimson colour with deep purple crimson hue. The nose displays a good perfumed lift with aromas of black plums, blackberries, liquorice, spice and confectionary. The palate is full bodied as expected with generous flavours of blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and spice followed by a peppery back palate. Good structure with dryish, slightly chalky but balanced tannins. Long aftertaste of blackpepper, liquorice and spice. Tasted against the 2009 Tatiarra Caravan of Dreams, the Georgia’s Paddock has a drier firmer tannin structure and does not have the remarkable persistence of flavour of that possessed by the Caravan of Dreams.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.0%
