A stunning blend!

A blend of 75% Shiraz and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, a low crop volume for the Cabernet meant only a tiny amount of Anaperenna could be produced from the 2009 vintage after none at all was made in the preceding vintage due to the Cabernet fruit being heat affected. Sourced from old vines up to120 years old with yields between ½ to 1 tonne per acre, the wine was matured in a combination of 95% French and 5% American oak, all of which was new, for 15 months.

‘This wine completes the hat trick of superb 2009 reds for the Glaetzer stable.’

Outstanding totally opaque black crimson colour with black heart and very deep black crimson hue. The nose displays perfumed aromas of blackberry, cassis, liquorice allsorts, toasty cedar and spice. Fabulous palate concentration, richness and in perfect balance, delivering opulent flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant and liquorice with a toasty
oak overlay. Some spice and blackpepper follow on the back palate culminating in a wine
of outstanding length and persistence. Super fine grained tannin structure with very long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant, spice and cedar.
Cellar 5-6 years (2015-2016).
