2009 Geoff Hardy K1 Shiraz

A blend of 97% Shiraz and 3% Viognier that saw maturation in 80% French barriques, & 20% American Hogsheads for a period of 20 months. 40% being new oak, and 60% older oak aged between 2 and 5 years old. Opaque black crimson colour with deep dark crimson red hue. Lifted blackberry and dark plum aromas arise from the glass followed by some liquorice, confectionary and spice. Plushly textured the palate delivers rich mouthfilling flavours of liquorice and blackberry followed by some vanillin confectionary, cedar and spice. Velvet smooth tannins with long plush aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, vanillin confectionary and spice.
