Domaine Clarendon is the new project of Clarendon Hills winemaker Roman Bratasiuk. Planted in 2006 using Astralis cuttings this is the first vintage to be produced from the vineyard with yields at less than 1 tonne per acre. The vineyards soil structure is solid rock (the vineyard cultivator broke two 'industrial-as' Caterpillar row rippers on rocks the size of houses) and it is located 350 metres above sea level - the highest altitude vineyard in Clarendon and also McLaren Vale.

A vineyard with great potential – this is a very impressive start to Roman’s new venture.

Totally opaque inky black crimson colour with black crimson hue. The nose displays lifted scents of ripe blackberry, dark plum and dark chocolate followed by a touch of liquorice and some spice. Rich and full bodied the palate is flooded with ripe blackberry and dark plum flavours followed by a touch of liquorice, toasty oak and spice. Superb concentration and depth with super fine grained perfectly integrated tannins and long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, liquorice and spice.
