2009 Deen De Bortoli Vat 1 Durif

The fruit for this wine is predominately sourced from Riverina with a portion (14%) also coming from King Valley. Opaque black dark purple colour with deep purple crimson hue. The nose displays good aromatic lift with aromas of dark morello cherry and black plum present followed by some liquorice and confectionary. Medium weight the palate possesses flavours of liquorice, morello cherry and spice but lacks depth and persistence. Dry finish with slightly chalky tannins. Moderate aftertaste of liquorice, morello cherry and spice.
Cellar 1-2 years (2013-2014).
