2009 d'Arenberg The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon

A big rich chewy McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of stucture.

Totally opaque inky black colour with dark crimson red black hue showing superb colour saturation. Lifted ripe blackcurrant top notes arise from the glass followed by some liquorice and subtle dark chocolate with underlying vanillin cedar and spicy end notes. Full bodied with a ripe chewy texture the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of cassis, liquorice and dark chocolate with underlying earthy vanillin cedar and a spicy finish. Dry grippy tannins assert their presence but are in balance with the wealth of fruit and counterpoint the wines opulence. Excellent length and power with long ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, subtle earth and spicy vanillin cedar aftertaste.
