Due to the difficult vintage conditions experienced in the Yarra Valley during the 2009 vintage, the fruit this Pinot Noir was sourced from Tasmania, the Mornington Peninsula, and the Seppelt Vineyard at Drumborg. Maturation took place in French oak for 9 months.
Semi translucent, dark crimson red colour with dark crimson mauve hue. Very perfumed nose showing excellent intensity with lifted scents of violets, dark cherries, meaty, game like notes and spicy cedar. A superb Pinot sniff. Light to medium weight the palate displays flavours of dark cherries, strawberry, dried meat, game and light cedar overtones with some spice on the back palate. Dryish finish with very fine grained tannins. Good power wave with long aftertaste of dark cherries, spice and game.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2011-2015)
Alc 13.5%
