2009 Brokenwood Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz

The fruit for the Graveyard Shiraz is sourced from 41 year old low yielding vines and the wine is matured in a combination of 80% French and 20% American oak of which about 80% is new. Opaque black purple colour with dark purple hue. The nose is a touch restrained at present with aromas of blackberry, liquorice and toasted earth emerging followed by some spice end notes. The palate is still relatively youthful and unevolved displaying a medium to full body with flavours of blackberry, spice and liquorice with a dry earthy spicy finish. Fine grained but solidly constructed tannins. Aftertaste of liquorice, spice and earthy meat like characters.
Cellar 5-8 years (2016-2019).
Alc 13.5%
