2009 Bodegas Campina Contadero Joven Tinta de Toro

Unoaked, the fruit for this Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) is sourced from 20-80 year old vines. Outstanding colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core and a deep dark red black hue. Intense very ripe black cherry and black plum aromas are followed by some liquorice, light earthy cedar and spice. Rich and full in the mouth ripe black cherry, black plum and liquorice flavours are abruptly cut short by dry firm grippy tannins with nuances of earth and spice left in their trail. Moderate chewy aftertaste of black cherries, earthy leather and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years in the hop that the aggressive chewy tannins will soften.
