2009 Barratt The Reserve Piccadilly Valley Pinot Noir
Deep dark red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose exhibits perfumed scents of ripe dark cherries intermixed with some anise followed by some cedar, gamey meat like characters and spice. Light to medium bodied the palate displays generous ripe dark cherry flavours, some anise, gamey characters and spicy cedar. Velvet smooth tannins, perfectly integrated. Excellent power wave with long ripe dark cherry, anise and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years.
Alc 13.5%
Other Reviews….
Very similar colour to the Bonython; not filtered; a selection of the best barrels and (presumably) the best parts of the Uley and Bonython Vineyards; the style is very similar to Bonython, the difference being greater definition and more intensity, yet retaining the hallmark silky texture. Drink by 2018.
