Sourced from bush vines planted in 1889. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark crimson red hue. The nose exudes ripe black raspberry and liquorice aromas followed by some dark plum, earth and spice. Medium bodied the palate is filled with juicy flavours of spicy ripe dark raspberries, black cherries and liquorice followed by a touch of earthy leather with the spiciness persisting right through to the long finish. Supple mouthfeel with ever so slightly dryish but very fine grained tannins. Long black raspberry, liquorice and spicy earthy leather aftertaste. Only 3600 bottles produced.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc 13.5%
