2008 Wedgetail Estate The North Face Cabernet Merlot

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that saw 12 months maturation in French oak. Very deep dark crimson red colour with dark crimson mauve hue. The nose displays a ripe aromatic profile with notes of ripe blackcurrant, plum and cassis followed by a hint of cedar. Medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel the palate displays flavours of cassis, plum and spice. Super fine grained velvet like tannin structure with aftertaste of very ripe blackcurrant and spice. A soft, round, fully ripened Yarra Valley Cabernet blend.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2012-2013).
