Another superb St. Hallett Old Block Shiraz fashioned by Barossa winemaking supremo Stuart Blackwell.

Fruit for the Old Block Shiraz is sourced from low yielding Barossa (88%) and Eden Valley (12%) vines aged between 60 and 100 years old. Maturation takes place in predominately French oak for 20 months. Totally opaque black crimson colour with deep black crimson hue. Superb nose with perfumed aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate, mocha and dark plum followed by a touch of liquorice allsorts as an end note. The palate boasts magnificent concentration and richness with mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberry, liquorice, mocha and dark chocolate with some vanillin back palate characters. Soft opulent texture with velvet smooth tannins. Outstanding depth with very long aftertaste of dark chocolate, mocha, liquorice and vanilla.
Cellar 5-6 years (2016-2017)
Alc 13.9%
