2008 Springs Hill Blewitt Springs Merlot

This wine was aged in predominately older French and American barriques for 20 months. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. Top notes of ripe mulberry and dark cherry are followed by some dark chocolate and spicy cedar aromas showing good intensity. Excellent weight and richness with a medium to full body the palate displays flavours of ripe mulberry and dark chocolate with some spice and cedar on the back palate. Very fine grained tannins with a soft fleshy texture. Good length with aftertaste of ripe mulberry, plum and spice.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2010-2015).
