Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon this wine was matured in a combination of new and one year old French oak barriques over a period of 18-24 months.

A magnificent effort and probably the best Rymill Cabernet since 1996.

Outstanding, totally opaque, black crimson colour with black heart and very deep black crimson hue. The nose delivers a classic Coonawarra sniffing experience with lifted aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry, liquorice, cedar, spice and mint followed by a faint hint of cigar box as an end note. The palate delivers the fabulous richness that has been evident in so many other 2008 Coonawarra Cabernets – a trademark of a great Coonawarra vintage. Flavours of perfectly ripened blackcurrant are followed by some dark chocolate, mulberry, cedar, tobacco and spice. Very fine grained tannins are perfectly integrated with the fruit. Excellent depth with very long aftertaste of blackcurrant, mulberry, cedar and spice.

Good colour; attractive wine; positive use of French oak on both bouquet and palate to support blackcurrant and mulberry fruit, the tannins fine, the finish long and well balanced. Best for a long time. Diam.
