Redman are a Coonawarra institution that established a cult following in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s only to fall into relative obscurity soon afterwards. From the Outstanding 2008 vintage they have produced an excellent expression of a fully ripened Coonawarra Cabernets.

A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot with maturation taking place in a combination of new and older French oak. Excellent colour with opaque inky black dark red core and very deep dark red hue. The nose reveals up lifted dark blackcurrant and liquorice top notes followed by some mulberry, chocolaty cedar and spice. Full bodied and possessing an inviting richness the palate delivers mouthfilling ripe blackcurrant and dark chocolate flavours along with a touch of liquorice with some underlying cedar and spice. The generous fruit is counter balanced by a solidly built firm but fine grained tannin structure. Excellent depth with long ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and spicy cedar aftertaste.
