2008 Poonawatta Estate The 1880 Shiraz

Sourced from vines planted in 1880. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Powerful aromas of liquorice and black cherry are followed by some dark plum, toasty vanillin cedar and spice. Rich opulent liquorice and black cherry flavours are dominate with some trailing blackberry, toasty oak and spice. Excellent concentration and power with solid yet velvet like tannins providing the structural support. Long persistent aftertaste of liquorice, black cherries, toasty cedar and spice.
