2008 Plantagenet Shiraz

An excellent Mount Barker Shiraz.
Totally opaque black dark crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose offers up aromas of liquorice, blackpepper, blackberry and spice with a hint of clove as an end note. The palate delivers a rich generous mouthfilling flavour experience of liquorice, confectionary, blackpepper, some meaty toast like characters and spice. Very fine grained almost velvet like tannin structure in combination with the wines tremendous richness result in a supple plush texture. Excellent length with very long liquorice, blackpepper and meaty spice aftertaste.
Drink now or cellar 3-4 years (2011-2015).
