2008 Majella Coonawarra Shiraz

Opaque black purple colour with very deep black purple hue. The nose is a touch subdued at first but opens up to reveal aromas of liquorice allsorts, blackberry and dark plum followed by some spicy cedar end notes. The palate displays good weight for a Coonawarra Shiraz whilst still maintaining a sense of elegance, a trait that the varietal is renown for in the district. Flavours of ripe blackberry, dark plum, dark chocolate and vanilla are followed by some spice on the back palate showing great refinement and depth. Velvet smooth tannin structure with long aftertaste of blackberry, dark chocolate, spice and blackpepper.
