2008 Lindemans Coonawarra St. George Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

The grapes for the Lindeman's St George Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced entirely from the celebrated St George Vineyard located on deep terra rossa soil which was planted in 1967.

Low yields in combination with the outstanding 2008 vintage conditions have resulted in a classic St. George.
Matured for 19 months in new (70%) and seasoned French oak barrels the wine displays a totally opaque black crimson colour with deep black dark crimson red hue. Perfumed nose with top notes of blackcurrant, violets and cedar followed by dark chocolate and mint end notes. Full bodied, ripe blackcurrant and cassis flavours fill the mouth supported by some cedar, spice and a hint of emerging cigar box. Outstanding concentration and depth. Fine grained but firm tannins provide the wine with excellent structure. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant, cassis, cedar and spice.
