2008 Lindemans Coonawarra Pyrus Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Merlot

The backbone of the 2008 Pyrus is Cabernet Sauvignon representing 79% of the blend with the addition of some Malbec (16%) and a small amount of Merlot (5%). The wine was matured for 12 months in 100% French oak barrels of which 80% were new.

Outstanding, totally opaque, black crimson colour with deep, black crimson hue. The nose displays a perfumed aromatic profile of blackcurrant, liquorice and spearmint followed by some cedar and spice. Medium to full bodied and quite supple, the palate displays flavours of ripe blackcurrant and mint followed by some ripe mulberry, liquorice and spice. Slightly dry, fine grained tannin structure showing good balance. Excellent length with long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, mint, cedar and spice.
