2008 Leconfield Coonawarra Merlot

Fruit for this wine was sourced from Leconfield’s original block with vines between 19 to 35 years of age. Deep purple black colour with purple black hue. The aromas are primary fruit driven as one would expect from such a young red – ripe mulberry, plum and cedar. Youthful palate flavours of inky ripe mulberry and plum followed by some liquorice allsorts, cedar and spice – displaying good weight. Fine grained dryish tannins. Aftertaste of mulberry, cedar and spice. The wine is a little tight at present.
